![]() The story contains a love-hate relationship, and trust issues as Frankie has to learn to go with her heart, not her head and overcome the differences between them, their backgrounds, and the different lifestyles they lead. Frankie is a down to earth girl working to pay off her loans whereas Aiden is rich, a well known high society bachelor with the paparazzi tracking his every move. Frankie dislikes Aidens bachelor ways and his snobbery but the more they are thrown together the more she thaws and the chemistry sizzles. Audiobook Review Overall 4.5 stars Performance 5 stars Story 4 starsĪ compelling story A bachelor high society billionaire and a girl from Brooklyn Sparks fly when Aiden and Frankie aka Francesca first meet at her best friend's wedding. *Note: The ebook has a link to an extended epilogue (it takes place a year later) and I definitely recommend it. The epilogue brought the story beautifully full circle and was the perfect way to bring things to a close. Her comedic timing made the barbs sing and I enjoyed her performance so much. I especially loved the voices she used for the Baranski family. Natalie Duke's narration was fantastic! She pulled off Frankie's snark and Aiden's swagger so well. ![]() The family issues and drama caused by Elliot's reveal at the end were predictable, but didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book. I thought the story meandered at times making it feel overly long. I will admit that I was intimidated by the length of this book (the audio clocks in at almost 12 hours!). Frankie's family was absolutely over the top and a highlight any time they were on the page. I loved how Frankie always held her own and how she pushed against Aiden's white knight complex, choosing to be Aiden's partner and equal instead. The second half focused more on the progression of Aiden and Frankie's relationship and reminded me a lot of Pretty Woman. The first half was filled with wedding hijinks and certain details gave me lots of Pride and Prejudice vibes. I both read and listened to this one and it almost felt like 2 stories in one. This was such a hilarious and sexy enemies to lovers slow burn romcom. The Worst Best Man was just what I needed. I was looking for a read that would make me laugh and I knew a Lucy Score book would hit the spot. But Franchesca Baranski? This smart-mouthed girl from Brooklyn may just be his downfall. And he hasn't met a challenge that he can't win. Conquering the unconquerable is basically his bread and butter. He's busy ruling the business world, and has yet to find a woman he can tolerate for longer than a month, two at the most, anyway. (Well, that's the plan anyway.)Īiden Kilbourn doesn't do long-term relationships. So a best man with a big attitude and an even bigger.checkbook? Yeah, there's no way she's going to let that pretentious, judgmental jackhole ruin her best friend's wedding. Rude attendees? You just watch her handle them. And the best man? More like the worst man.īut maid of honor Franchesca takes her duties seriously. Entitled? Not enough checks in the world. But the rest of the wedding party? They're the stuff of nightmares.
